Hit a warning during install? Here’s how to allow it

① Browser blocks the download

Some browsers warn that “this type of file can harm your device” or block it automatically. Click “Keep” / “Keep anyway” to keep downloading — the file is safe.

Windows · “Unknown publisher / Windows protected your PC” warning

  1. Run the downloaded -setup.exe installer.
  2. If the blue “Windows protected your PC” window appears, click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
  3. If asked whether to allow this app to make changes to your device, click “Yes” to continue.

This installer isn’t commercially code-signed yet, so an “Unknown publisher” warning is normal.

Linux · install

  1. Debian / Ubuntu: double-click the .deb to install via Software Center, or run sudo dpkg -i your-downloaded-file.deb in a terminal.
  2. Fedora / RHEL / openSUSE: sudo rpm -i your-downloaded-file.rpm.
  3. Arch / Manjaro: install in one line with auto-updates via the AUR — yay -S publishport-bin (or paru -S publishport-bin).
